The Holiday Period

Sources inform us that Mehdi Zand, leader of the World of Yaad new religious movement, and the other three men that were taken into custody with him in the recent altercation in Rickmansworth (UK), have all been denied bail on different occasions and will be spending Christmas and New Year's behind bars.

Hertfordshire Police Still Appealing for Information in Mehdi Zand Case

APPEAL FOR WITNESSES FOLLOWING AGGRAVATED BURGLARY – RICKMANSWORTH

DETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses following an aggravated burglary in Rickmansworth.

The alleged incident happened just after 5pm on Tuesday ( November 11th) at the Blue Fire Restaurant on Moneyhill Parade, Uxbridge Road in Rickmansworth when it is reported that four people forced their way into the property.

A man in his late thirties and a man in his fifties sustained serious injuries which required medical treatment following the incident.

Detective Sergeant Kevin Brown, from Watford CID, who is investigating the incident, said: “This was a violent attack in which two men have sustained serious injuries. This incident took place during rush hour and I am appealing to anyone who may have seen or witnessed the incident or have any information at all to come forward and assist our investigation.”

“I would like to reassure the public that this type of incident is extremely rare in Rickmansworth and this type of behaviour will not be tolerated on the streets of Hertfordshire.”

NOTES TO EDITORS: Four men have been charged with aggravated burglary in connection with this incident and will appear at Central Herts Magistrates Court this morning (November 13th).

The men are:

Francesco Zand, 36, of Tower Hill, Chipperfield.
Mohammed Kashefi, 48, Tower hill, Chipperfield.
Mehei Zand, 47, of Tower Hill, Chipperfield.
Hamid Mokaram – Afshari , 50 , of Northolt.

A 47-year-old Woman from Chipperfield was also arrested and has been bailed to return to Watford Police Station on November 30th.
